In the 1960s, China was a country where 60% of the population lived below the poverty line. In 1967, it faced a devastating famine that led to the deaths of 45 million people. Four decades later, China successfully transformed itself into the world’s largest economy and lifted over 800 million people out of poverty. This marks the fastest economic expansion in world history.
